Grateful for Your Sacrifice, Albert

I visited the Marietta National Cemetery for the first time in my life today at 28 years old. It’s hard to believe it was my first time given I grew up in Marietta—but I will never forget this visit and paying my respects to Albert today. His memorial immediately stopped me in my tracks amidst the other 20,000+, and I am still so touched by his sacrifice at the very young age of 22. May we all pray to be as brave, courageous, and as selfless as Albert was in serving his country. We are forever indebted to you sir. Rest in Glory.

honoring you...

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.
