Thank You
Dear Sgt David Russell, Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today we honor all in heaven, we honor you. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Sgt. David A. Russell
Today is July 3, 2020. Your Birthday will be on July 15. My Birthday is on July 7, 1943, you daughter Sabrina's Birthday was yesterday 7/2/2020. I wished her "Happy Birthday" and in your honor I wish you were still here. So you could see how your daughter Sabrina and her family have grown. We all miss you after all these long years. And have visited you at the "Wall" many times just to see your name and remember your sacrifice for your country and wife and daughter. I will always remember the two years we served together at Parris Island, S.C. as Rifle Coaches. And as the very best of friends, Semper Fi to you my brother !!!!

Veterans Honor Bus Trip
On November 23, 2019 I was on the Veterans Honor bus trip to Washington, D.C. Stopped at the Wall to visit my best friend Sgt. David A. Russell. We were stationed together at Parris Island for two years as Rifle Coaches. I left a picture of him on the Wall under his name (Panel 43E Line 69). He was KIA at Khe Sanh on March 9, 1968. 51 years have passed, but his memory will always be in my heart. A true friend and Marine Brother. You will never be forgotten. Your friend Cpl. Joe Darinsig
