Remembered

DEAR PETTY OFFICER BARRON,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A GMG3 - GUNNE'S MATE (GUNS) 3RD CLASS. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE. ADVENT IS HERE, AND CHRISTMAS IS APPROACHING. WE ARE THANKFUL FOR YOU. THE NEW YEAR IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, WHICH MAKES IT FAR TOO LONG FOR YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE SAINTS AND ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE.

Thinking of you today....

I wrote on this page 11 years ago. I was the replacement Gunner sent to Cua Viet after the 23 boat was hit on 11/11/68 with the loss of all hands, including Robin. Today I am attending an event at the USS Midway in San Diego which will include visiting the travelling wall. I will pay homage to Robert Barron and again thank him for the ultimate sacrifice and what that means to our nation. RIP Robert "Robin" Barron, you are missed.
