Remembering An American Hero
Dear CMS Robert Newell Ireland, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

P.O.W. Bracelot
I wore Sgt. Ireland's POW bracelot back in the '70's for years without taking it off...ever. A friend of mine just sent me this link so I could read about him. It was an honor to wear his bracelot.

And Bob's Fiddle Plays On
I first met Bob in San Antonio at the USAF Tops in Blue competetion.. He was in a country group with Marvin Leopold of Illinois, and Clarence Womack of Virginia.. I was doing a single country act, fiddle and guitar..We won world wide competetion and were selected to tour the world beginning the first of 1957. At the last minute Bob had to return to California and he sold me his fiddle for $50.00...I took his place on the tour, and we tried to locate him now for the last 51 years.. I ally pulled him on the website last week and found all the information on him, which was so sad to hear..I still have the same fiddle and play on a regular basis.. It has been around the world a couple of times, and I play at a little cafe here in Tennessee..If anyone would like to hear the fiddle, contact me via e-mail and I will be glad to send you a copy of VCR or DVD..Bob was a very special friend..and is missed every day !!!!!
