Robert N. Ireland

My dad, William "Bill" Evans served with Bob Ireland in Ubon, Thialand. Daddy thought the world of Bob, and often told stories about what fun they had playing music together. Daddy said "Bob" was a talented fiddle play, and they often entertained the troops, daddy on guitar, and Bob on the fiddle. Daddy passed away two years ago, and is now with his "Bothers in Arms" that he lost in combat so many years ago. R.I.P.
God Bless
Mike Evans

Prayers for Robert

I wore a POW/MIA bracelet for Robert. My mom's maiden name is Ireland and I thought it was a special blessing to have been picked to wear his bracelet. I lost that bracelet somewhere in my life, but I still remember that time. In just looking to see what his status was today, I was so sad to see that he did not make it home. I was also surprised to find out his family is from Missouri as I am. I never knew he was from Missouri while I wore that bracelet. My heart goes out to his family and all they have had to go thru. Prayers for all of you and know he is remembered by those of us who never knew him personally.

Prayers for Robert

For years I wore POW bracelet with his name. Finally, I saw his name on the Wall. Rest in peace, Bob. You will always be my hero

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CMS Robert Newell Ireland, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
