Thank you, John
My name is Madeleine Carroll and my father was John’s younger brother. I have heard such wonderful things about John, and I was fortunate enough to travel to D.C. to see the Vietnam Memorial and his name on the wall. I want to thank John for serving this country and being a loving older brother to my dad. I will keep John in my heart and prayers. Thank you to all who served in Vietnam. Your bravery and dedication will never go unnoticed and are deeply appreciated.

John T Carroll
John and I were best buddies in Basic Training at FT Polk, In June- Sept 1965. After basic, he went to Ft Leonard Wood and I went to Ft Gordon. In July 1967 in Vietnam, we were both surprised that we were in the same unit. It was great to get reacquainted. Terribly, he died from a severe electrical shock while trying to restore power to our mess hall. I was the first person to get to
him after the fall from the power pole. He was a great person and we had a lot of fun times. If anyone would like more memories of John, lease contact me. I visit with him at the Vietnam memorial wall often.. Chuck

Farm Visit in Missouri"Droppy"
"Droopy" as his friends in the service at Ft Leonard Wood called him was funny and really good with my kids. He and six others, including my brother Charles T Norman, came down to our place by Taxi- as the man let them out- he said enjoy yourself but don't call me for a ride back- this country is wild. They didn't they went back in the back of our truck and did not seem to mind. We had a really good time and both my kids remember him. We all really liked him. Took me a while to find out if he made it or not.
