THANKS

Dear PFC Vernell Carlson
Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Cousin

I was just 16 when word came of your sacrifice. And though it was 48 years ago, I can still remember so many parts of the cold day you were laid to rest. Though dressed in your uniform, I remembered you as the cousin who taught me how to milk a cow. The simple things of farm life. And you gave your life for a freedom which I would not understand until I was older.

On each Memorial Day, I remember you.

Peace with Honor

You were one of the brave that answered the call. You honored us by your service and sacrifice. We now honor you each time we stand and sing the words “THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE”. Rest in Peace and Honor Vernell.
