Never. forgotten - Memorial Day 2025

Hi Aprille,

Tomorrow is yet another Memorial Day and it has now been 53 years since we lost your dad on that day in May. I just want you to know that he is never forgotten. Each and every Memorial Day since then I have taken a few minutes and thought of my friend Barry and another fellow pilot, John Hasleton. John lost his life about four hours later that day. Both men are still remembered and thoughts and visions of them come flooding back each year at this time.

I hope it gives you, your Mom and your sister some solice in knowing that Baryy will never be forgotten especially by those of us who served with him.

Best regards,

Jack O’Connor

Hi Kidlet, it's Aunt Carroll ("Aintie")

You're still very much alive in all of our hearts. Throughout these many years without you, "Unc" and I laughed often about the "goofy" things we did together. So much fun! Now that he's with you I'm sure you two are having great gab sessions. (I'm smiling.) You made the ultimate sacrifice. You are the ultimate hero. Much, much love. See you Sunday morning.

THANK YOU FRIEND

I served with Barry in the 21st TASS at Phan Rang AB and Tan Son Nhut AB, RVN. We would share stories and memories of our two young daughters back home. He was a friend and encouragement to me, as brothers in Christ, during a very discouraging time. I am now and was then, so grateful for his life and sacrifice.

Miss you Barry

Barry, I think about you often and the positive impact you had on my life choices to attend The Citadel and join the USAF and to follow in your footsteps. You are sorely missed by many.
