From a friend
Larry and work together Almac's in his home town of East Greenwich. We enjoyed a lot of laugh together and shared some hard times too. I have never forgotten him. He gave the ultimate for this country. I served in Viet Nam a few years after him and was lucky enough to return . You had to serve in Viet Nam to understand the loss we all suffered!

Thank You
Dear WO Charles Callahan,
Thank you for your service as an Utility & Light Cargo Single Rotor Helicopter Pilot with the 1st Cavalry. As another summer comes to an end, it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Final Mission of WO1 Charles L. Callahan III
On July 21, 1968, a U.S. Army helicopter UH-1H (tail number 67-17415) from Company C, 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion was carrying a sling load at night during a tactical emergency to an LZ west of Camp Evans when the aircraft came under enemy fire. During the attack the tail rotor was damaged causing the helicopter to crash. All crewmen aboard suffered fatal injuries. The crew included aircraft commander WO1 Ralph J. Willard, pilot WO1 Charles L. Callahan III, crew chief SSGT Robert D. Stone, and gunner SP5 Robert W. Parent. When the downed helicopter was later located, both pilots were found dead still strapped in their seats. [Taken from vhpa.org]
