A Chester County soldier was killed in the war recently. He was Pfc. Joseph E. Bugar Jr., 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Bugar Sr. of Route 30 West, Coatesville.
Bugar, who was sent to Vietnam in April was wounded May 4, spent two months in the hospital and then was sent back into combat on July 7. His parents were notified of his death last Friday.
After graduating from the Scott High School, Coatesville, Bugar attended West Chester State College. He was employed by Lukens Steel Co., Coatesville, prior to entering the Army last October.
Surviving besides his parents are sisters, Judith, wife of Robert Rice, West Chester; Janet, wife of Donald Kilgore, Pomeroy, and Jacqueline, at home, and a brother, Gerald, also at home.
