From Your Former Cub Scout

I was in Cub Scouts. My mother was the Den Mother. You were assigned to our den as the Boy Scout leader. You were a great scout, and I have no doubt you were also a great soldier. About the time you entered the Army, I signed delayed entry papers to go into the Navy the following September. I sailed into Vung Tau 2 years later. We were home in San Diego, and I was home on leave, when you were killed. All these years later, you are not forgotten.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrances from your friend Harla Wood are especially poignant. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us...

The last time I saw you

The last time I saw roger was the last day he worked Alpha Beta. Told him good luck and would see and talk to him later. Later never came. I found out that died after I went into ther service. Have memories from high school and church.

Green Beret

Roger was a medic with the 5th Special Forces Mobile Strike Force (Mike Force). We were in Special Forces training together at Ft Bragg. He was killed during the operation on Nui Coto mountain. I was on patrol at the base of the mountain when they brought his body down. I think about him often. A truly nice guy and a hero.
