Will never forget the uncle I never met...

Rodolfo,

My name is Veronica, your neice. I was never given the opportunity to meet you, it seems as though the lord had different plans for your life. Over the years growing up, I always heard my mother and grandmother speak of your sacrafice to this wonderful nation, and it saddens me to think that you died for my freedom.

There are no words that I can say that will even hint the slightest bit of graditude that I feel towards you and your fellow brothers in arms, for you giving the ultimate sacrafice for our freedom. Just know that I am extremely greatful.

My husband is a veteran of the US Army, my brother-in-law is a veteran of the US Marines, and my sister is newely enlisted in the US Navy. I think you would agree that we follow in your footsteps and are too, proud Americans.

My family, your family, remembers you greatly, and are very saddened over your death, even today. You will never be forgotten.

Some Words from a Brother in Arms

I was there the day VillaFranco lost his life. It was a hard fought battle with the NVA at Ap Dong Lam. I saw the pain in his friends faces as they carried him out the village along with another trooper that had been killed. I know he was a fine soldier that lost his life doing his job. He was in 2nd or 3rd platoon, and I was in 1st platoon, but I have never forgotten that day or these two men I helped carry out. You are remembered my Brothers.
