Dear Sp4 Wayne Van Lant, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Summer ends in days. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it still needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Wayne Van Lant and his family, moved to California after his high school days. He grew up in Brooten, Minnesota and graduated from Brooten HS in 1964. Wayne is also named on the Minnesota Vietnam Veterans Memorial, on the grounds of the capitol mall in St Paul, Minnesota. Thanks to his Brooten classmate and friend- Doug Vesledahl.

They were always there on the chopper.. One night my brother was told by Wayne, stay here Ed, we are going to be back. My brother lived and Wayne never returned. My brother was the door gunner.
We went to your family and had a visit after my brother returned from Vietnam.
My brother died in a car accident in 1978

You and my brother were on the same chopper. Eddie was a door gunner. After your death, we went to meet your family. I was a teenager then.
I remember a tragedy when a young family member fell in a vat of wax? Your family has so much sadness..
