Those By Gone Years

From September 1951 to June 1959 We attended St. Leo's Elementary Grammar School, Oakland, California. I recall You were an avid reader, a good Kickball Player and always had a joke to tell. Our Dominican Nuns never appreiciated our jokes ! You spoke many times of your Father's best efforts in " Carson's Raiders " and the Makin Island Raid. I joined the CORPS in March 1966. To this day, I wish that I was down South to help out when You and your fellow Marines needed support. I suspect that You'll be on Sentry Duty at Heaven's Gate if I'm fortunate to make it. I suspect that You'll have a laugh and a hand shake, telling Me, " what kept You so long ? " Thus far I've had a great Life. I've nothing to complain about. Your still in my prayers as all those fine Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen that served down South in The Republic That Once was Vietnam.
