Always in my heart

It has been my great honor to wear my Alan Boyer POW/MIA bracelet. I thought of leaving it by the wall after I did a running, but just couldn't part with it. I'm so happy I found this site and learned that his remains have been found and that he's resting in Arlington. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. He'll always be with me in my heart. Even though we've never met, I feel as though he's a part of my family. I've had the POW bracelet since the 80s.

Remembered

DEAR SERGEANT 1ST CLASS BOYER,
THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A SPECIAL FORCES QUALIFIED RADIO OPERATOR. I AM SO GLAD YOU WERE FOUND IN 2016! WELCOME HOME!
MEMORIAL DAY IS APPROACHING, BUT ON ALL DAYS WE SHOULD HONOR YOU. IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG FOR ALL OF YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE. YOU ARE ALL IN OUR PRAYERS.

SFC Alan Lee Boyer's final journey home

SFC Alan Lee Boyer arrived in DC on a commercial flight & was escorted from the plane by an honor guard. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery on June 22, 2016 with full military honors in a very moving service. Welcome home, beloved big brother after 48 years. He is buried near his best friend , a Medal of Honor recipient Loren DOUG Hagen, KIA August 7, 1971 .
Thank you to all who remembered Alan all these many years. Sincerely, Judi Boyer Bouchard
