Bracelet...

I am a 33 yrs old daughter of a Vietnam Vet. (USMC Ret.) I am posting this to say Thank You to this man. Althought i have never met you or anyone from your family. I wanted to say I have worn a bracelet that has your name on it for the past 17yrs. It belonged to my father, which he received during the war. It has only come off my wrist 4 times in those yrs, during the delivery of my children, and was back on asap. I have recently discovered how your story ended and was very touched to learn the details. RIP Jerrold Switzer.

Ground Casualty

On March 18, 1968, PFC Jerrold A. Switzer tried to save the lives
of Vietnamese children who were being swept out to sea, and was himself
drowned. He was in South Vietnam, in the Quang Ngai River in the province of
the same name. Whether the children were saved is not noted in public
record. [Taken from pownetwork.org]

Switzer family service

I do not believe we are close family members since my family was based in Western New York and earlier in eastern Pennsylvania. But let me offer our family's respect and regrets for your service and sacrifice. I also served in RVN in 1968-69 but returned with only wounds. I will not forget you even if we never met.
