Thank You
Dear PFC Charles Swaim, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Flag Day is soon. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Final Mission of PFC Charles M. Swaim
PFC Charles M. Swaim was a rifleman serving with Headquarters & Service Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On February 10, 1967, PFC Swain was on a patrol with Marine S2 (intelligence) scouts in support of the 3rd Marine Division conducting area surveillance and reconnaissance six miles southeast of Phong Dien in Thua Thien Province, RVN. At approximately 10:55 AM, Swaim ran into a pull-wire on a 250 lb. bomb rigged as a land mine. He was killed instantly in the blast; another Marine on the patrol was seriously wounded. Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Charles Michael Swaim, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

To Put A Face With A Name
Chuck, thanks to the efforts of Councilman Jim McLean from Bethel Park, PA (where you and your family were originally residents) and who had an article published in our local community paper 'The Almanac' searching for any family members so your name can fovever be enscribed on the Bethel Park Veterans Memorial and to your twin sister, Margi, who was so kind to provide me with this photo, it is with great pride and humility for me to honor your memory and the sacrifice you made for our country by uploading this remembrance and your photo. You are not forgotten and remain in the hearts of many all these years later. You have been designated to be one of God's special angels, along with the love of my life, who also sacrificed his life during this war. God Bless You Chuck for being who you were and for all you did--we live in freedom to this day thanks to heroes like you.
