I found you on the wall in Maui

Hi Chat,
I found your name on the wall amongst the 5,281 names. I was so moved when I found you on W10, 119. Most of you were just boys (average age 22) —such a tragic loss. You were very brave and will not be forgotten. I wish I could say that was the last war, but sadly we did not learn much from it. God bless you.
Your friend from Lockport,
Bette Ward, Maui, HI

Will never forget

He was my friends older brother, seven older than us. He always made fun of us in a good older brother way. I remember him sitting at his moms kitchen table playing poker with his buddies, he was serious then. He went to Vietnam and I never seen him alive again. Went to the Vietnam War Memorial Wall yesterday in Oswego Illinois the volunteer pulled up his informotion on the computer to show me where his name was on the wall and when he showed me a picture of him in his fatigues I could not stop the tears from flowing. In a split second I remembered him at that kitchen table 49 years ago.
