STEVE... 53 yrs ago today, April 20, 1970... YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN! A comrade of yours of 101st SP has joined you. Sgt Isaac John Gayo. Today on the 20th, we will remember him during his wake and funeral. Isaac also left a girlfriend/fiance behind like you. History repeats itself. My prayers for both of you. My dear Steve, VET'S DAY, yesterday is always the hardest day of the year for me since I lost you, Dad and Joe. Sorry I couldn't be at the VVM reading of names. Too emotional and far. 52 years has passed, and at VET'S recent functions brought back yesterday's memories today. I was asked to make a comment, and I said "I'm the honored one to have been in his life and loved... even for a short time on earth. Steve loved being a Green Beret. Dear Sp5 Steven Steele, Thank you for your service as a Special Forces Qualified Infantry Operations & Intelligence Specialist. I researched you on your 52nd anniversary, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Tomorrow is 47th anniversary of the official end of the war. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

My dear Steve, 11/11/2021-Veteran's Day, & still emotional of you KIA in Vietnam. Today, remembering you, and seeing all the tributes, I felt sad. When someone asked me who I was remembering today I just choked up. Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice to this Nation, & most of all for giving me your love.
