To a brave man

RIP to a half brother I never knew. I visited the memorial many years ago to get a rubbing and thought of what might have been.

Thank You

Dear PFC Daniel Sherman, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. I researched you on your 56th anniversary, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy Valentine’s Day. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Dear Classmate and Prom Date

Dear Dan, you are gone from our midst but never forgotten.

We, the Shawnee-Mission North Class of 1959, honor you and all of our class mates that have gone before us.

I was your prom date for the evening. You had a beautiful new aqua colored Studebaker Lark and my prom dress and shoes matched your new car. Little did we know then what our futures would hold.

I was so saddened for your family when I learned of your death.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Daniel L Sherman, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
