To his sister and Father
I am a Nam Vet. I never knew Robert. I know his sister, Cinde, through my wife's work. We are friends. She is proud of her brother who died so many years ago. I met Robert's father, a retired military man. A proud and what I would call a gentle man who loved his son and country.
Cinde told me about the Viet Nam Vet's Memorial in Taos,New Mexico. I have driven by it many times. I will go their one day and maybe you should too.
Cinde may not know it, but, she has reminded to never forget our fellow brothers who died in Vietnam.

Not Forgotten
It has been nearly 32 years and I have not forgotten Robbie. We served in the Fire Direction Center of A Battery, 6 Bn 27 Field Artillery in 1971 at a firebase known as Song Be. I remember Robbie to be a very quiet person and quite homesick. He was very new to the battery and was in the process of learning all of the new routines before he was lost to us. I will not forget his quiet and gentle demeanor and I share his family's loss.
