If I should die...remembrances for CAPT. Thomas George BLAIR, JR, USA...who died for ouir country!!!
If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore uindone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and tremblingbhand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

A Great Soldier
We served together for a short while in A 1/501st. I was an FO assigned to your company. I remember well the eagerness you always showed. Your sense of mission and purpose were always so evident. Thank you for your supreme sacrifice. It will be forever remembered.

Tom and I were in HS together but several years apart. Were in scouts together and he went to VMI a couple of years after I did. We served in VN about the same time - I came home and he didn't; still haven't been able to force myself to the "real" Wall to see his name. Tom was a great scout, cadet and soldier.
