To my brother

In Memory of Thomas George Blair Jr.

I was Tom's youngest sister, Jan. He is still a very special part of my life. Tom was always there for me. He taught me, though his example, to have the courage of my convictions.

Tom was a 1969 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, Lexington Virginia. At their 25th reunion, his Brother Rats established the Preston Library Reading Room Memorial to honor all 1969 graduates that lost their lives in Viet Nam.

I have recently received his medals. They will be donated to the VMI Museum for display on the VMI Wall of Valor.

Tom received the following decorations for valor:

Silver Star
Bronze Star with V
Air Medal
Army Commendation Medal
and Purple Heart

For those who would like to remember Tom, he is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

High School Friend

I remember Tom as the older brother of my friend, Marti. Tom was exceptional in those days. He was always gentle, understanding, and wise beyond his years. I know he was always patient, helpful, and struggled in German class with Marti and I. I remember Tom and regret he was lost in the Vietnam War
