I still remember you

Melvin was in my high school for a short time. Both of our names start with an N so we sat together in many classes. I got to know him a little in his brief attendance at East Palestine High School. He had such a difficult life, but he wanted people to remember him. He wanted to join the Marines after high school, go to Vietnam and like, Audie Murphy win all the combat medals. As a fellow classmate and Vietnam vet told me, "You can not tell who the heroes will be." Melvin you are my unlikely hero. Thank you for your service on this Veterans Day 52 years after your sacrifice.

We remember

My dad remembers his friend Melvin from youth back in Wellsville. When I got my dad to go visit the moving wall, we went and found Melvin to pay our respects. Any time the moving wall comes, I visit his name. I never met him but we remember him and his heroism.
