Prayers from a stranger
We have never met, but I have been wearing your POW bracelet since I was a teenager in the 90's. I just want your family to know that there is always someone out there praying for you to come home.

Final Mission of Capt Wayne E. Newberry
Capt Wayne E. Newberry was a U.S. Air Force pilot serving with the 6th Special Operations Squadron, 633rd Special Operations Wing, 7th Air Force. On September 29, 1968, Newberry piloted a Douglas A-1H Skyraider (#52-135305) on a two-plane combat mission over Saravane Province in Laos. While over the target area, his Skyraider was brought down by enemy fire. Witnesses did not report seeing him bail out of the aircraft before it crashed, and enemy presence in the area prevented investigation of the crash site. Attempts to locate Newberry or his remains following the end of hostilities have been unsuccessful. VA-115 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hancock (CVA-19) for a deployment to Vietnam from January 5 - July 22, 1967. Following the deployment, this A-1H was transferred to the U.S. Air Force and shot down over Laos on September 29, 1968, while in service with the 6th Special Operations Squadron.]

Capt Newberry has been remembered for my lifetime
As I clean out to downsize my home, I came across my Remembrance POW bracelet I had gotten in the Vietnam years. I was a college student then, and am now retired. I submitted a photo of the bracelet with the goal of letting his family and loved ones know he has been remembered for over 50 years. I only wish he was here to have lived these same 50 years.
