Family
My name is Cooper Galletta, and Wayne Newberry is my Great uncle. Though I’ve never met my great uncle he has inspired me so very much. He’s inspired me to apply to the Air Force Academy and to serve in our Air Force. I really wish that I was able to meet him because I have so many questions about his career. If I was ever able to meet I’m sure we would I been best friends.

Younger years
I remember him as Skeeter. We lived in the same neighborhood in the west end of Davenport, Iowa. We spent allot of times playing with the neighborhood kids. Fun times. He would come to see me after he moved to Tipton when he came to town. The years passed and he came to see me
When I was around 19 he came to visit and asked my mom where I worked. He was going to surprise me. She told him I had gotten married and moved away. Years again passed and I tried looking up some old friends on my computer. That is when I found out about his MIA status. I was shocked and cried for the lose of my childhood friend. I pray that God is taking care of him and that we will meet again someday and I can introduce him to my husband that I lost to cancer in 2008. When I read thru and found one of his memorials was at Air Force academy in Colorado I was surprised because I live in Colorado also. Small world.
