He was a soldier

We have recently did a whole grading period on the vietnam war.At the end of this we watched we were soldiers. This movie hit home real good. My teacher Mr.Hernandez told many stories of men who gave there lifes, but Jimmy hit me in da heart. He told us that he had a baby boy born the same day he was killed. Me and my fellow class mates werre shocked how this war took men so heartlessly. Jimmy was a brave man and i know I will never forget his bravery for this country. I will not forget the others who died but I know that he will remain in my heart. I give my wishes to his family and lots to his son and parents and his WIFE. If you do read this and some day i know you will my blessings are for you and that you remain to be the sweet person I know you are . I know that he had a son born the same day as him and it must be had for him but his father died courageously. My love blessings and much more.

Soldier and Family man

After seeing "We were Soldiers" I was touched by the part where they showed the napalm strike. I cried..because this was a young man who served his country and was a family man at best, who gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country in such a way, and leaving a Wife and Daughter behind with the daughter never feeling her fathers love. Im a soldier and a family man with 3 beautiful children. And I realize that this soldier is a hero and by no circumstances should he ever be forgotten. Jimmy is a hero and will stay in my heart and prayers for a long as I live, as will all the other brother in arms. Rest in Peace Jimmy God Bless You and Thank you for your sacrifice for your country and your people we owe alot of gratitude to you.

unknown to me

I did not known of you until I saw "We Were Soldiers".
I wasn't even born when you gave your life for your country.
I now think of your wife and child you left behind.
My heart goes out to you forever.

Dear Jimmy

After I read of you in "We Were Soldiers" I read an article in the Billings Gazette about Trudie and Nikki. I sent it to Joe, who placed you on the chopper. I hope one day they will meet, so she will see face to face the person who helped you with so much compassion.

Godspeed, Jimmy.
