Never Forgotten

Lt. Naasz was my platoon leader in Vietnam Nam and great one in my opinion. He was willing to listen to those who were more experienced who served under him. He once told me that if he could earn a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, it would be the greatest thing to ever happen to a kid from Wolf Point. He earned both, but his second Purple Heart cost him his life. Rest In Peace LT. I will always remember you.

Dear Lt Emil Naasz, Thank you for your service as an Infantry Unit Commander. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy New Year. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

OCS

Emil was my roommate in the 4th Platoon of our OCS Class 8-69 on Ft. Benning GA. Emil was a quite guy but Montana strong. Emil is one of 6 brothers in arms that I've roomed with in my service career that I'm posting remembrances this Memorial Day. May God bless him and provide solace to his family for giving the last full measure of devotion to his country.
