OCS

Emil was my roommate in the 4th Platoon of our OCS Class 8-69 on Ft. Benning GA. Emil was a quite guy but Montana strong. Emil is one of 6 brothers in arms that I've roomed with in my service career that I'm posting remembrances this Memorial Day. May God bless him and provide solace to his family for giving the last full measure of devotion to his country.

Thinking of you

Emil sat behind me in 7th grade homeroom in Wolf Point. He would always get me in trouble by goofing around and me getting blamed because of my reaction. He was a cross between Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer back then. He'd just laugh and think of another way to get me in trouble. I too served in the Americal Division, 68-69, also in Quang Ngai province at Minh Long Special Forces camp and remember reading about him being killed. Very sad cuz he was such a good guy, and as all know VN KIAs as well as vets didn't get much positive recognition.
