Thank You
Dear PFC John McNabb, Thank you for your service as a Construction Equipment Repairer. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is Labor Day. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Best Friend ever!!
All these years later, I still miss ya Buddy. Lots of great memories stateside and Nam. I was transferred to the Americal Infantry Division at Chu Lai from the Combat Engineers at Qui Nhon and a few months later heard you were killed. See you upstairs someday. Lots of years have gone by and I still don't know why I am still here, guess someone up there has a purpose or mission for me to still be here. See ya later.

Ground Casualty
PFC John J. McNabb was a Construction Equipment Repairer. He arrived in Vietnam in April 1967 with the 589th Engineer Battalion from Fort Hood in Texas. He was later transferred to the 73rd Engineer Company. On November 30, 1967, McNabb was operating a mule, a ½-ton 4×4 utility platform truck, in a quarry near Binh Son in Quang Ngai Province, RVN. While driving on a hill in the quarry, the vehicle lost traction and overturned. McNabb suffered fatal injuries in the incident. Shortly after his death, his friends from the 589th Engineer Battalion held a memorial at their compound along Highway QL-4 outside of Qui Nhon.
