YOU ARE NOT ALONE JOHN FOR HE IS WITH YOU!

JOHN J. MCNABB WE SALUTE YOU. I REALIZE IT IS A LITTLE LATE, BUT I HAD TO LOOK UP AND SEE IF YOU AND I WERE RELATED. I STILL DO NOT KNOW, BUT IT IS CERTAINLY POSSIBLE.
MY FAMILY APPRECIATES YOUR SERVICE AND ULTIMATE GIFT TO ALL OF US.
MY BROTHER WAS A MARINE IN WW11 AND I SERVED IN THE KOREAN WAR AS AN OPERATING ROOM TECH, HM2.
I HOPE YOUR FAMILY KNOWS THAT ALL AMERICANS RESPECT WHAT YOU DID FOR US BACK THEN. YOU'LL HAVE TO FORGIVE THOSE THAT WERE NOT RECEPTIVE AS TO WHY YOU WERE THERE .
AGAIN, I SALUTE YOU SIR AND THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID FOR US ALL.

My Uncle, My Godfather

Uncle Johnny was the second of seven children in the McNabb family. My mom Mary was the oldest. He was my godfather. Nana and mom, as well as my uncle and aunt would share how special he was. He would send outfits home, and mom would take pictures of me and send them to him. Although I was extremely young, I feel like I know him so well. Our family made sure his memory lived on. To date, I have a picture of him on my dining room hutch. A true soldier, a true hero...Uncle Johnny. Hugs in Heaven! Julie

Remembering an American Hero

Dear PFC John Joseph McNabb, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for the ultimate sacrifice that you made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. And please know that men and women like you have stepped forward to defend our country yet again, showing the same love for country and their fellow Americans that you did- you would be proud.

With respect, and the best salute that a civilian can muster for you.

Curt Carter

A cousin remembers

John was my 1st cousin on the O'Brien side of the family. I've stumbled accross this web site by accident and it's nice to see that he's remembered by friends and fellow soldiers. We grew up at different ends of Somerville and rarely connected but John has always been in our thoughts and prayers. RIP John
