He Lives Eternal
On June 26, 1969, Ben and I married in the Chapel at Camp Pendleton, CA. Within 10 weeks he was killed by mortar fire during his third tour. I thank God for having my life touched by a man of such great honor and integrity, strong character, and enduring patriotism. And yes, my life was forever changed but he lives eternal in my heart. I remember Lt. McDermott
Lt. McDermott was my Platoon Commander in 3rd Recon. I was with him when he was wounded the first time on Hill 502. I didnt know he had been killed until I saw an article in News Week. I placed a flower under his name at the Wall on July 5 2002 while attending the 3rd Recon Reunion. He was a wonderful man.
