He Lives Eternal

On June 26, 1969, Ben and I married in the Chapel at Camp Pendleton, CA. Within 10 weeks he was killed by mortar fire during his third tour. I thank God for having my life touched by a man of such great honor and integrity, strong character, and enduring patriotism. And yes, my life was forever changed but he lives eternal in my heart. We will meet again someday - of this I am sure! Always, Sandra

I remember Lt. McDermott

Lt. McDermott was my Platoon Commander in 3rd Recon. I was with him when he was wounded the first time on Hill 502. I didnt know he had been killed until I saw an article in News Week. I placed a flower under his name at the Wall on July 5 2002 while attending the 3rd Recon Reunion. He was a wonderful man.
