Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died on your 24th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Thank You
Dear WO Harold McCaslin, Thank you for your service as an Attack Helicopter Pilot. Your 72nd birthday was 3 days ago, unfortunately, it is also the 48th anniversary of your passing. That is too sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Time passes quickly, but our world needs help. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

2 Helicopter Pilots from Colorado
I met Harold (we called him Norm) in flight school at Ft. Wolter's, TX. Having talked, we realized we were the only two from Colorado. He from Denver and me from Boulder. We were members of the Purple hats. The top of the class got his choice in helicopters. That was Norm, and he chose gunships, a coveted assignment. I stayed with the Huey slicks and missed going to Vietnam by one class. I still think of him and looked for his name on the Vietnam Memorial. I'll always remember him and his sacrifice.
