Some gave all!
Grady and I were classmates and friends from 1st through the 12th grades; Grady took ROTC in college (Jacksonville State) and I ran track (Auburn); after graduation, he was commissioned a 2nd Lt. and I attended Officer Candidate School at Fort Belvoir, Virginia so he went to Vietnam a few months before me! I was at home in Alabama on leave before reporting to the Corp of Engineers in Vietnam when I noticed his headshot photo in our local paper (the Gadsden Times); I grabbed up the paper and my heart skipped a beat as I read the news of his death and how all the time I knew him he was always talking about his future career as a soldier! His memory stayed with me through my entire time in Vietnam and even to this day I can still see his smiling face and remember his enthusiasm for the service to his country! He still lives in my memory; may he rest in peace!

I was working as a military police officer in Qui Nhon the night of the attack on the Tank Farm and went with the react team to push the VC sapper team out of the tank farm. My partner and I took a number of the wounded to the hospital, but never learned names or outcome. I have wondered about names and where home was for them for almost 50 years. There is some comfort knowing the names of those who sacrificed their life that night.
