William Behrens a fallen Hero
Willaim Behrens had a very nice family. He was the son of Elden Behrens (deceased)and Sylvia (Hoffman)Behrens (now Mrs. Richard Stienhardt). William left a sister Kathleen and number of aunts and uncles. The family got a letter sent from a army buddy A. Twillry following Will's death. One quote was "I had been at the battalion quite a few weeks when Bill came in. They were very cramped for space in our barracks and they moved Bill in next to me. After a few minutes of talking to your son and brother, I knew at once he was my type of guy. As he and I talked that first night, I knew he was all man" The family probably watched Bill play at many of his football games. I know for sure that the Behrens family loved their son and brother very much. My condolences go out to the family

One True American Hero
William C. Behrens was born on January 23, 1947 and died on January 31, 1968. William Behrens died at the age of 21. He was on Varsity Football Team playing linebacker and guard on defense, basketball team, track squads, president of the freshman class and member of the Lettermen's Club in his junior and senior year.
This soul was taken away when he was hit by a sniper bullet during the Vietcong guerrilla infiltration while he was driving a truck, just outside Saigon. He was the third member of Washington High School 1965 graduating to lose his life in action in Vietnam.
His family I would say really miss him, he was a hero for his country, and was a wonderful man who has risk his life to save the people in America. You will never be forgotten.
