honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

My uncle

I am your niece Gini, and I am sad to say that I wasn't born yet when you passed away. I wish that I could have met you, my mom (your sister Miriam) spoke so highly of you. I am fortunate enough to have gotten to know your other sister Sue up until her passing in 1990 and your dad until his passing in 1999. I loved both of them so much. I am proud to be able to say that I have in my possession some of your letters and the flag that was laid across your coffin. Love you even though I never met you. Thank you for your service!
