Thank You
Dear PFC Thomas Long, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is the 45th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon, and it is still sad. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Thomas Calvin Long Jr, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

Life is not fair
I think of Tommy frequently. I fondly remember our many days playing golf and nights in Georgetown. When we decided to enlist in the Marine Corps, I never thought our paths would take such different directions. You went to Nam and I was assigned to an administrative MOS. I have often asked God why we got such different assignments. You lost your life and I was allowed to live. Why? Life is not fair, for sure.
I still, to this day, miss your laughter, dynamic personality and loyal friendship.
