Friendship

Danny. I miss you so much. We had a very short time together before you left El Toro. Love the few pictures we had together.

Thank You

Dear Lcpl Donny Lawson, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I never forgot you

I was too little to understand where you were going but knew you were not going some place fun. I remember sitting on your lap as your dad sat across the table, very worried about you.
They didn't tell me that you died. I only knew you weren't going to be around anymore.
Just wanted to say your family still thinks of you, love you much-
Birdy

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Donny Ray Lawson, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
