Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Donny Ray Lawson, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

I never knew him but I love him!

Donny was my first cousin (his dad and my mom are siblings). He died when I was not quite 6 years old and since I lived in AR, I never had the chance to know him. Nobody talks about what happened to him, only that he died in Vietnam. I would love to talk to someone who knew him in his military years, what was he like?

The only thing I know for sure, and probably the thing that matters most is that he is a HERO!!
