High School Friend

I was so sad when Melvin was listed as a MIA
I kept thinking and praying if anyone could make it , He could.
I wore 2 MIA bracelets into.
I still have them .
It still hurts .
The Ladewig family was a wonderful family.

Many thanks

I just came across this site. Melvin was my father, shot down when I was 18 months old. I have worn his bracelet continuously since college. It's touching for me to know that even in his absence, he was an inspiration for so many people. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrances from those who wear/wore your MIA bracelet are moving and reflect their admiration and respect for you. It remains my fervent hope you will be returned home after the passage of so many years.

Gift from your dad

Your dad was visiting an Army buddy from WW II, Matt Celic. Matt was my neighbor. When your Dad learned I was interested in, and wrote a few letters seeking info on MIA/Pows, he gave me a bracelet with your name on it. Still have it. One of seven I had over they ears. Still wear it.

Bracelet Keeps Your Memory Alive

I obtained your bracelet as a brand new second lieutenant at Navigator school at Mather AFB, CA. I wore your bracelet for many years and it now rests in a position of honor in my office as I retired long ago. Every time I glance at it I say a quick prayer of thanks for your sacrifice and that of your family. May God bless you and your family.
