Remebering Those Who Served

In 1987 a friend brought me back a MIA braclett from Washington, D.C. On it was the name of Steven H. Adams. I have worn this braclett proudly since receiving it back in 1987 as a high school sophmore. I feel very close to him even though I did not know him personally. I only hope and pray that his family and friends are as proud of him as I am. Even though I haven't had a chance to go to the wall and see his name for myself, I appreciate the opportunity that is given to me by the Virtual Wall. May God Bless all whose name grace this great monument.

A Stranger, A Friend

In 1971 I received a bracelet with S/Sgt. Steven Adams' name. When I learned his name is on the Wall and he is still unaccounted for, it caused a feeling of deep regret within me, even though I never knew him. I will always hold in my heart the deepest admiration for this soldier who fought for his country and was never able to come home. My youngest brother served in Viet Nam and we were fortunate to have him come home and go on to lead a healthy, productive life. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Steven's family.

MIA Bracelet

In 1971 I accepted the responsibility of wearing a MIA bracelet for Steven Adams. Each year for the last five or six years I've worn the bracelet on Veterans Day. This year, when the virtualwall became avaiable, I had to see if I could find out more about Steven Adams and if he had even been accounted for. I am glad to have his Panel/Row numbers on the wall so that I can pay homage when I am next in Washington. R. N. Jespers
