Your Father’s Name on the Vietnam Memorial

Chris, this is Ken Bernhardt we went to Choctaw together. You told me about how your father was shot down. I was assigned to the DC area and every time I could get to the “Wall” I would look for your father. They changed the listing book this last visit and I found him. Gone but Never Forgotten.

my wedding day 7 14 56 and robert was in my wedding

robert was a good looking guy in a white tux a nice smile he and i were wing man in the 319th usaf both in kokomo and japan and korea he saved my life once when we were bussing a tent city out side of tokyo japan the flight was led by bart wasserman i was 3 and cherry nose was # 2 tight formation as we came diving on the tents cherry nose sensed we were too low and if i kept my formation i would have hit the tents so he said #3 stack up which mint i would go hi on cherry noses wing this helped me miss the tents by about 5 to 8 ft we blew the tents down

my wing man in korea we called him cherry nose because when he would drink his nose would turn

he was in my wedding in 1956 in kokomo ind i flew with him in korea and grissom afb in logans port ind great wingman and pilot he saved my life once when we were bussey a tent city lead by wasserman great receiter of poetery with a little sip of remembering whisky i love that man dearly ken jackson simsbury ct 860 658 4525 l;ove to talk to his children
