I am wearing 1LT. Carter Howell

I wear this bracelet now. I finally sat down to look for this man I have thought about for 40 years. It is with tears I give him my love and thank him for his bravery. I was 16 when I got the bracelet....history has revealed that war should not be an option. the loss of life should not be the coast of our freedom. Words are the only way to peace. Carter Avery Howell my hero who I forever honor on Memorial and Veterans day. Peace to his family.

I too wore Captain Carter A Howell's MIA Bracelet

I just read a FB re-post about damage done to the wall in July 2016, which brought up the memory of the MIA bracelet I wore. In 1973, while a senior in high school, I requested a MIA bracelet and received one honoring this good man, Captain Carter A Howell. Years ago the bracelet was inadvertently lost while wearing. While I have found his name on The Wall, I never thought to look him up on the Internet until now. While it is an emotional moment 44 years later, I am happy to learn a bit more of you. Thank you Captain Howell for your service, and your family and friends who have posted here in remembrance.

Bracelet

I am a 58 year old woman who proudly wears his bracelet which I got while still in High School. I was able to track down his mother back before computers. We exchanged several letters. I was happy to see a picture of him on this sight. I am forever grateful for his sacrifice.
