Once.....Always

That's what we learned, Chuck. That once we learned the ways of the USMC we would never leave that brotherhood. I remember you from our days at Walters, gymnastics team. You were a star, man. Watched you climb that rope all the way to the ceiling of the gym with just your arms, legs stuck straight out! By the time I was drafted in January 1971, you had been gone a year. The only casualty from JFK that I know. I was in DC last year and took a rubbing of your name from the wall. I need to get it to your family or maybe to Kennedy, so that you will never be forgotten. Today seems like a good day to post here in honor of your sacrifice. I am so glad this page is up with that great picture of you. Rest in peace and Semper Fi......DP

First Crush

What to say....after 34 yeears I just found out today what great tragedy befell you and your family. You were my first crush. Remember when you lived around the corner? Remember the stolen kisses and winks in the halls of school? Remember the first time you walked me home from school, arm around me, carrying my books? Remember that kiss? I do and I always will. I always thought I'd have a short name change, HINshaw to HINton. But, I never thought it would end like this. You were a great guy, Chuck, and you will always be in my heart. I love you Chuck.
