To the family of Terry Hicks

My father, Reed Turnquist, and Terry were friends together at the University of Colorado. I wore Terry's MIA bracelet every day from October 1993 until late 2004, when I began wearing KIA bracelets of two soldiers killed in Iraq that bear the same first names as my sons. I gave Terry's bracelet to my father. He has always spoken very fondly of Terry and of their friendship.

Warmest regards from my family to yours.

Met a Hero's Son The other Day...

A few nights ago a friend of mine and I had the honor of meeting this Hero's Son. When I found this picture my heart was taken aback by how much they look alike. I will NEVER forget seeing Kevin, Terrin's Son, stand while his Father's name was being read aloud at a dinner for POW/MIA's. Words fail me... God Bless You Kevin. I will not forget you or your Father ever. We will keep you and yours in our hearts and prayers until your Father's mission is complete. He is a Hero and we were honored to have met you.

In Gratitude

I met Terrin's son Kevin at a National League of Families candlelight dinner on Thursday, June 16, 2005. Seeing the returned POW's at that meeting, speaking with family members of those lost, was such an honor that I barely have the words to express my gratitude. These men, their families and loved ones, all gave so sacrificially... and I am one of many who stand together to say thank you. From the bottom of my heart, and with all I have, I send out deepest thanksgiving. For it is such sacrifices as you have all made that make this nation what it is -- Free. "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you..." (Philippians 1:3) May God be with all who serve; those who came home and those who did not. And may God hold in the palm of His hand those who continue to suffer the sorrow of not knowing what has become of their loved one. May your search be over soon.

Not Forgotten

I have not forgotten you. I chair the Adoption Committee for The National League of Families of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action in Southeast Asia. We will always remember the 1,889 Americans still unaccounted for in Southeast Asia and the thousands of others that lost their lives. We will not stop our efforts until all of you are home where you belong.

We need to reach the next generation so that they will carry on when our generation is no longer able. To do so, we are attempting to locate photographs of all the missing. If you are reading this remembrance and have a photo and/or memory of this missing American that you would like to share for our project, please contact me at:
