Thank You

Dear Lcpl Fred Hardy,
Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Today is Vietnam War Veterans' Memorial Day. It is now Lent. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I knew Fred

I was wounded, when Fred died on 12/8/66. I was sent home after a fews weeks at Clark AFB and then a month Japan.
Fred was a friend of Cpl. Simmons who was wounded with me 3 months earlier. Simmons was sent home in Sept.1966.
The way I remember, Fred Hardy had only a week left in Vietnam. Should have never been in the field. Rest in peace Fred.
Please contact me if you were with us.

Miss you, Fred.

I served with Fred in Vietnam 1966 and when the chopper was to pick me up to
go back to the states we were trying to dig in because we could hear enemy
movement and the wounded started to come in.
Fred said he wished he was going home with me and it was months later when
a friend who was with Fred when he was killed told me of his death.

I miss you Fred

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Fred Douglas Hardy, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
