honoring you...

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Thank You

Dear Lt Leon Greshamer,
Thank you for your service as a Field Artillery Unit Commander. Your 51st anniversary is in 2 days, sad. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Thought of you often

I thought of Leon often. We were in boot camp at Fort Jackson together. We became good friends in that short amount of time and were both assigned to the same squad and were in the same 10 man wall tent throuhout boot camp. I remember we both sat, one late afternoon, and contemplated our future in the Army Leon wanted OCS and airborne and we talked about going that route together. I was already scheduled to go to heavy equipment school (MOS 62b20). We went our different ways. I eventually went to Thiand and he went to Nam. I was shocked and saddened when I heard about him. A good, good man lost too soon. Gone but certainly not forgotten 4-16-2018

A favorite uncle

He was always my favorite uncle, with him being 11 years older than me, was more like a really cool big brother, before he went to Nam, he visited us, and he had gotten some cut up knuckles, and he would tell me I was his little nurse and I took care of them for him, when I became a nurse, It was to heaven that I said " I did it Uncle Leon" He is so missed by his family and friends who have shared stories with me about him growing up.
