Passing the stories

Today I just learned Lt Gray was my uncles XO in Vietnam. My aunt listed his name as one she always remembers during Memorial Day. My uncle, Rod McCormick, passed away over 30 years ago so he never saw me in uniform nor did I get to hear this story. It warms my heart though to read the remembrances and honor Lt Gray as well. Thanks to him and his family for their sacrifice.

A Norwich Grad

I was one year behind Richard at Norwich University and I just recently learned of his death in Vietnam. It is so upsetting that we lost so many Americans in a war that was unwinnable and inconsequential to the security of US. I believe that he was the only child that his mother had at the time of his death. What a waste!!!

Memorial Day 2021

When the helicopter landed at Pleiku, I held Dick’s head as he was removed from the chopper. He was conscious and responded to me. I cannot forget that night or LT Gray. I honor his service and sacrifice.
