Bracelet

I purchased a POW/MIA bracelet for Captain Laurent Gourley 8/9/69 in 1972 while being stationed at the Bremerton Naval Hospital. I still have the bracelet and I've been to the Vietnam Memorial once and was directed to his name. RIP Capt. Gourley and thank you.

My Friend

I served with Maj Gourley at Phu Cat AB in 1968/69. I was a PE man for the 174th TFS, but worked with the 416th while at Phu Cat. I remember saving a spot for him at our outdoor theatre to see Bob Hope in 1968. We spent the night playing Hearts and sharing stories. What a terrific, patriotic, young man. I feel honored that I got to know him and I think of him often, even after all these years. I will never forget you and the sacrifice you made for our great country.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am heartened you returned home though I wish it had been under very different circumstances. May you rest in eternal peace.
