Wore Capt Laurent Gourley through Junior High, High School and beyond until it broke in half.
2-18-2020
I was going through old stuff today and I found my Pow Bracelet that I wore for years, Junior High, High School and beyond until it broke in half. I could not just let it go so it was always put in with my High School remembrance.
I would like to give this to Capt. Laurent’s family if they would like it.
I always prayed for this man every day.

Former MIA Major Laurent L. Gourley - Accounted for in 2002
The DoD's Joint Task Force–Full Accounting (JTF-FA, now DPAA) accounted for and positively identified the remains of former MIA Major Laurent Lee Gourley, U.S. Air Force Academy Class of 1966, on 16 August 2002.
At the time of his loss on 9 August 1969, then Captain Gourley was the aircraft commander aboard an F-100F Super Sabre from the 614th Tactical Fighter Squadron that took off from Tuy Hoa Air Base, South Vietnam on a forward air control and reconnaissance mission over Laos. The aircraft was hit by enemy fire and crashed in Salavan Province.
Details are on the DoD's DPAA website at this link:

The remains of the pilot of the aircraft, Jefferson S. Dotson, were also recovered and later positively identified during the crash site excavation.
